API Errors
If you're seeing an error when using the background remover, here's what it means and how to fix it.
"Upload failed (400)"
Invalid file format or size. Make sure you're uploading a JPG, PNG, or WEBP under 10 MB.
"Upload failed (413)"
File too large. Compress or resize the image first using the compressor or resizer.
"Upload failed (429)"
Rate limit exceeded. You've made too many requests in a short time. Wait a minute and try again.
"Processing timed out"
The server took longer than 90 seconds. This usually means heavy load. Click Retry. If it persists for 5+ minutes, try again later.
"Job expired or not found"
The processing job was lost. This can happen if too much time passed between upload and status check. Just re-upload and try again.
"Processing failed"
The AI model failed to process the image. Common causes:
- Image is corrupted or truncated
- Image is too small (under 100×100 pixels)
- Image is entirely one color (no subject detected)
- Extremely unusual content that the model can't handle
"Cannot load result"
The processed image couldn't be delivered. Try again, or check your internet connection.
"API unavailable"
The processing server is temporarily down for maintenance or has hit capacity. Try again in a few minutes. All browser-based tools will continue to work.
Browser-side errors
"Cannot use this file"
The file was rejected before upload. Check the format and size against the requirements.
"Failed to fetch"
Network error. Check your internet connection. This can also happen if you have a browser extension blocking requests.
Nothing happens when I click retry
Refresh the page and try a fresh upload.
Still not working?
