Editor Guide

How to use BG Remove's browser-based image editors.

Image Cropper

Basic usage

  1. Upload an image
  2. Drag the crop box to position it
  3. Drag corner handles to resize
  4. Click "Crop & Download"

Aspect ratio lock

Click a preset (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:5, etc.) to lock the crop to that ratio. This is useful for platform-specific requirements.

Image Rotator

Quick rotate

Use the "Rotate -90°", "Rotate +90°", and "Rotate 180°" buttons for common orientations.

Fine angle

Drag the slider to rotate by any angle between -180° and 180°. Useful for straightening tilted horizons.

Flip

"Flip Horizontal" mirrors left-right. "Flip Vertical" mirrors top-bottom. Both are pixel-perfect (no quality loss).

Image Resizer

Exact dimensions

Enter width and height in pixels. With "Lock aspect ratio" checked, changing one updates the other.

Presets

Click a preset button for common platform sizes: Instagram (1080×1080), YouTube (1280×720), LinkedIn (1584×396), etc.

Scaling

The percentage slider scales uniformly from 10% to 200%. Good for quick resizing without calculating dimensions.

Photo Enhancer

Adjustments

Five sliders control the image:

  • Brightness — overall lightness (-100 to +100)
  • Contrast — difference between dark and light
  • Saturation — color intensity
  • Warmth — color temperature (blue ↔ orange)
  • Sharpness — edge definition (0 to 100)

Undo and redo

Each slider change is stored in history (20 steps). Click "Undo" to revert, "Redo" to reapply.

Watermark Remover

Painting

Click "Paint", adjust brush size, then paint over the watermark. Use a slightly larger brush than the watermark for better coverage.

Erasing mask

If you painted too much, click "Erase mask" to undo painted areas.

Applying inpaint

Click "Apply inpaint" to fill the masked area with nearby pixels. Works best on smooth backgrounds. For difficult cases, apply small masks iteratively.

Transparent PNG Maker

Sampling color

Click "Pick from image" then click on the background. Or use the color picker directly.

Tolerance

How close a pixel must be to the sampled color to be removed. Higher = removes more colors (may eat into the subject). Lower = preserves more (may leave a fringe).

Edge softness

Partial transparency at the boundary. Higher values blend the edge. Lower values leave it sharp.

General tips

  • Work at full resolution. Fine details that look clean in preview may have artifacts at print size.
  • Download and check. Zoom in to 100% on your downloaded result to verify quality.
  • Use PNG when transparency matters. JPG will flatten transparency to white.
  • Keep originals. Always save your original before applying destructive edits.
