File Size Limits
Different tools have different size limits. Here's what to know before uploading.
AI Background Remover
- Maximum file size: 10 MB
- Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP
- Why the limit? Server-side AI processing requires memory, so we cap uploads at 10 MB to keep the service fast and available for everyone.
Browser-based tools
- Maximum file size: 25 MB
- Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP
- Real-world limit: Your device's available memory. On low-end Android phones, images over 8 megapixels may fail. On desktop, up to 40 megapixels usually works.
What to do if your file is too large
- Compress first. Use the image compressor to reduce file size without changing dimensions.
- Resize first. Use the image resizer to reduce pixel dimensions.
- Crop. If only part of the image matters, use the image cropper to remove unused areas.
- Convert format. WEBP files are typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality.
