DMCA Notice & Takedown Policy
Last updated: January 2025
BG Remove respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This policy explains how to submit a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
1. Important note about uploaded content
BG Remove does not host user images. Images uploaded to the background remover are processed transiently and are not stored on our servers after the response is returned. This means that in most cases there is no infringing content on our servers for us to remove.
If you believe your copyrighted work is being misused on a third-party website that was produced using BG Remove, you should contact that third-party website directly with a takedown request.
2. Filing a DMCA takedown notice
If you believe that content hosted or displayed on bgremove.site infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated agent at dmca@bgremove.site. Your notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, including a URL or specific description of its location on bgremove.site.
- Your contact information, including your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.
3. Counter-notice
If you believe that material you posted was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@bgremove.site. The counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which BG Remove may be found).
4. Repeat infringer policy
BG Remove reserves the right to terminate access for users who repeatedly infringe copyright. Because we do not maintain accounts, this policy is enforced via IP-level rate limiting and blocking where evidence of repeated abuse exists.
5. Misrepresentation warning
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please verify your claim before submitting a notice.
