Accessibility Statement
Last updated: January 2025
BG Remove is committed to making its tools and content accessible to as many people as possible, including users who rely on assistive technology. This statement describes our goals, the standards we target, and how to report issues.
1. Conformance target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
2. Measures we take
- Semantic HTML. Pages use proper landmarks, heading hierarchies, and semantic elements.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard.
- Visible focus. Focusable elements show a clear focus outline.
- ARIA labels. Complex controls have appropriate ARIA attributes, and live regions announce status changes.
- Color contrast. Text is tested against WCAG AA contrast requirements (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text).
- Reduced motion. Animations are disabled when
prefers-reduced-motionis set. - Skip links. Every page provides a "Skip to main content" link.
- Responsive layout. The site works across screen sizes and zoom levels.
- Alt text. All meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images use
alt="".
3. Known limitations
The image editing tools (cropper, watermark remover, enhancer) are inherently visual. While their controls are keyboard accessible and their functions have text equivalents in documentation, refining the visual output requires sight. We provide numeric inputs and text descriptions where possible.
Some third-party content (such as advertising) may not meet the same standards. We aim to choose partners who follow accessibility best practices.
4. Feedback
If you encounter accessibility barriers on BG Remove, please let us know:
- Email: accessibility@bgremove.site
- Use our Contact page
Please include the page URL, a description of the barrier, and the browser/assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
5. Assessment approach
We test the site using:
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver)
- Automated accessibility tools (Lighthouse, axe)
- Browser zoom at 200% and 400%
6. Ongoing efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add new tools and pages, we test them against the same standards. We welcome feedback that helps us improve.
