1. Information we collect

1.1 Images you upload

When you use the AI background remover, your image is transmitted to our secure processing API. The image is processed to remove its background, then returned to your browser. We do not store the uploaded image or the processed result on our servers after the response is delivered. Processing is stateless — every request is independent, and no data persists between requests.

All other tools on BG Remove — the image compressor, resizer, cropper, rotator, color picker, passport photo maker, profile picture maker, and product photo editor — process images entirely within your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. These images never leave your device.

1.2 Automatically collected data

Like almost all websites, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) may log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and timestamps. These logs are used for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic analysis. They are retained for a short period and are not used to identify individual users.

We use a minimal number of cookies and browser storage entries. See our Cookie Policy for details. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time, and the site will continue to function.

1.4 Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages and tools are most useful. We do not sell data, we do not run intrusive third-party ad networks, and we do not fingerprint users. If third-party advertising is present, it is clearly disclosed on the relevant page.

Images uploaded to the background remover are not retained after processing. Server request logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and troubleshooting. Analytics data is stored in aggregate form and is not linked to individual users.

8. International transfers

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) operates a global network. Data may be processed in data centers outside your country. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect personal data.

We use HTTPS for all traffic, enforce strict transport security, and apply standard security headers. See our Security page for details. No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
