Tips for great product photos
- Consistency wins. Use the same background, padding, and lighting across every product in a category.
- Show the whole product. Leave some breathing room — don't crop too tightly.
- Use the AI background remover first if your product photo has a busy background. Clean cuts convert better.
- Test at thumbnail size. Your image will mostly be seen small. Check that the product still reads clearly.
- Match the marketplace. Amazon's default is white; Etsy favors lifestyle shots; Shopify varies. Match the platform's culture.
Frequently asked questions
Does this remove the background?
No. This tool crops, pads, and adds a background color behind your image. Use the AI background remover first if the background needs to be removed.
What padding should I use?
8–10% is a good default. Amazon recommends the product fill 85% of the frame, which corresponds to about 7.5% padding on each side.
Can I use the transparent background option?
Yes, but only for PNG output. JPG does not support transparency, so a transparent background will appear black or white in the JPG.
Do you store my product photos?
No. Everything is processed locally in your browser.
